Cullom, IL – All campuses in the Tri-Point Community Unit School District in Ford County, Illinois, are closed today following an anonymous threat received in the early hours of Tuesday morning.

According to Superintendent Jay Bennett, the threat was directed at the district and received overnight. With student and staff safety cited as the top priority, officials decided to cancel classes Tuesday, April 22, at Tri-Point Elementary in Kempton, Tri-Point Upper Elementary and Junior High in Piper City, and Tri-Point High School in Cullom.

District administration is coordinating with local law enforcement to assess the threat’s credibility and determine next steps. No additional information about the nature of the message has been disclosed at this time.

“We will update later in the day when more details are available,” Bennett said in the letter issued to families Tuesday morning.

The school district urges parents and guardians to stay connected through official school communication channels for updates as the situation develops.
