Florida’s East Coast Braces for Heavy Rain, Flood Risks Through Monday

Melbourne, FL – Heavy rain and potential flooding are expected to persist in Melbourne today, with the forecast showing continued storms through Monday. Rainfall of 2-4 inches is likely, with localized areas possibly seeing over 4 inches.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, the heaviest rain will affect areas inland and north of the I-4 corridor. Temperatures will remain in the low 90s today, and storm activity could continue overnight into Monday. These conditions may lead to additional flooding concerns, especially in low-lying areas.

Looking ahead, the forecast shows more rain expected throughout the week. Monday has a 50% chance of storms with highs reaching 89 degrees. The unsettled weather will continue into Tuesday and Wednesday, with temperatures in the high 80s and rain chances remaining above 50%.

Residents are advised to monitor flood warnings and take precautions as the risk of excessive rainfall continues through early next week.
