Miami, FL – Cooler weather is making its way across South Florida as the region braces for a drop in evening temperatures heading into the weekend. Friday’s highs are expected to reach the upper 70s, but nighttime lows could fall into the mid-60s near Miami and even into the 50s in inland areas like Clewiston.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Miami, a high-pressure system moving into the region will bring calm but cooler conditions starting Friday. This shift will persist through the weekend, offering a welcome reprieve from recent unseasonably warm weather. However, residents of Palm Beach County should remain cautious, as rip currents along the Atlantic beaches pose a significant risk through at least Monday.

For those planning outdoor activities, Friday will feature mostly sunny skies with light winds near 7 mph. Saturday brings slightly stronger northeast winds, gusting up to 20 mph, which may impact boating and beach conditions. Daytime highs will hover in the mid-to-upper 70s throughout the weekend, with lows dipping to the upper 60s along the coast and dropping further inland.

The rip current warning remains in effect for Palm Beach County, where swimmers are advised to stay near lifeguard-protected beaches and heed safety flags. Cautionary marine conditions may also impact boating along coastal waters by Sunday as winds increase.

Looking ahead, South Florida will see highs climbing back into the upper 70s by Monday and Tuesday, with lows stabilizing in the low 70s. Slightly warmer weather is forecast mid-next week.
