Miami, Florida – South Florida could see more than two inches of rainfall Wednesday as thunderstorms continue to hammer Miami under a flood watch.

According to the National Weather Service, the flood watch remains in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday, with a 90% chance of thunderstorms bringing heavy rain and gusty winds. Localized street flooding and hazardous driving conditions are likely, especially along U.S. 1 and I-95 during morning and evening commutes.

Wednesday’s high will climb to 86°F, with thunderstorms expected throughout the day before tapering off slightly after sunset. Winds will stay breezy, with gusts near 20 mph. Residents are urged to avoid low-lying roads, secure loose outdoor items, and delay non-essential travel.

By Wednesday night, rain chances lower to 40% but showers may linger into early Thursday, which will see continued moisture and more scattered thunderstorms. Thursday’s high will be near 88°F, and another round of storms is possible Thursday night.

The pattern shifts slightly by Friday, when drier air may briefly reduce rain chances, though isolated storms remain possible. More widespread rainfall is likely to return Saturday and Sunday, continuing the wet trend into next week.
