Melbourne, FL – A Heat Advisory has been issued for East Central Florida, including Greater Orlando, with temperatures expected to reach dangerous levels. The National Weather Service (NWS) has forecasted high temperatures between 93 and 96 degrees today, with heat indices soaring between 105 and 110 degrees.
The advisory remains in effect from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Friday. Residents are urged to stay hydrated, avoid prolonged exposure to the sun, and take breaks in air-conditioned environments. According to the NWS, scattered afternoon thunderstorms may provide brief relief but will not significantly lower temperatures.
This intense heat is expected to continue through the weekend, with high temperatures forecasted to hover around 92 degrees on Saturday and 91 degrees on Sunday. The heatwave is projected to persist into the coming week, with temperatures remaining in the low 90s through Wednesday.
