Orlando, Florida – Drivers across east central Florida should expect dangerous visibility levels through sunrise Monday as dense fog blankets major highways including I-95 and the Florida Turnpike.

According to the National Weather Service in Melbourne, patchy dense fog developed early Monday and is impacting travel across Orange, Osceola, Brevard, Indian River, St. Lucie, Okeechobee, and Martin counties. Visibility has dropped to under one mile in several areas and could remain low until after 8 a.m.

Motorists are urged to slow down, use low-beam headlights, and leave extra space between vehicles during their morning commute. Conditions are especially hazardous on stretches of I-95 near Vero Beach and Melbourne, and along the Turnpike between Orlando and Port St. Lucie.

This fog event follows several humid nights across the region and may mark the start of an early summer moisture pattern. Drivers heading to work or school should consider delaying travel if possible or using alternate routes with less highway exposure.

Fog advisories remain in effect until later this morning. Updates will be issued as visibility improves or if new advisories are needed.
