Residents in Tallahassee and surrounding areas should brace for chilly weather as temperatures drop to freezing overnight into Friday. Frost is likely early in the day, but sunny skies will bring some relief by mid-afternoon, with highs reaching the mid-50s.

According to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Tallahassee, widespread frost is expected before 9 a.m. Friday, with overnight lows plunging to around 38 degrees. Drivers along I-10 and Apalachee Parkway should plan for reduced visibility due to frost and exercise caution during the morning commute. By Friday afternoon, temperatures will climb to a more comfortable 65 degrees under sunny skies.

Looking ahead, the weekend promises a gradual warming trend. Saturday will see highs near 69 degrees and lows around 55, accompanied by partly cloudy skies. Sunday is expected to be even warmer, with highs reaching 72 degrees and mostly sunny conditions, making it an excellent day for outdoor plans.

Residents should still prepare for chilly nights throughout the weekend, as temperatures will dip into the low-to-mid 50s after sunset. For those with early morning activities, layering up is recommended. Frost-sensitive plants should remain covered overnight as colder air persists through Friday.

The extended forecast for next week points to a return of mild weather, with highs climbing into the mid-70s and plenty of sunshine.
