TALLAHASSEE, FL – Strong spring storms are set to sweep across the Florida Panhandle on Wednesday, bringing severe thunderstorms, heavy rain, and gusty winds to the Tallahassee area. Forecasters warn of potentially damaging winds reaching up to 35 mph and a high risk of lightning, especially during the morning hours.

According to the National Weather Service, thunderstorms will likely develop before 7 a.m. on Wednesday, followed by scattered storms throughout the morning. Some of these storms could become severe, producing strong wind gusts and localized flooding. Wednesday’s high will be around 76°F, with breezy conditions persisting throughout the day.

Drivers on Interstate 10 should be cautious as heavy rain and strong winds could reduce visibility and create hazardous road conditions during the morning commute. Residents are advised to secure outdoor furniture and prepare for possible power outages due to strong wind gusts.

By Wednesday night, the storms will clear out, leaving partly cloudy skies with a low of 44°F.
