Miami, FL – A Red Flag Warning remains in effect for much of South Florida from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday due to heightened fire weather conditions. Authorities warn that dry air, gusty winds, and warm temperatures could lead to rapidly spreading wildfires.

According to the National Weather Service in Miami, the affected areas include Metro Palm Beach County, Inland and Metro Broward County, Inland and Coastal Miami-Dade County, as well as regions in Glades and Hendry counties. The combination of southwest winds at 10 to 15 mph, gusts reaching 25 mph, and relative humidity dropping as low as 30% presents a significant fire risk.

Temperatures are expected to reach the mid-to-upper 80s, further increasing the likelihood of fire ignition and spread. Officials advise residents to avoid outdoor burning and to exercise caution with any activities that could produce sparks or flames.

A Red Flag Warning signifies that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring or imminent. South Florida emergency services are urging the public to stay alert and report any signs of wildfire activity immediately.

For updates and safety recommendations, residents are encouraged to monitor local alerts and follow fire prevention guidelines issued by authorities.
