Tallahassee, Fla. – A powerful line of storms continues to sweep through southeast Alabama and southwestern Georgia this afternoon, bringing the threat of tornadoes and severe weather to the Florida Panhandle. A tornado watch remains in effect for much of southeast Alabama, the Panhandle, and portions of southwest Georgia as conditions stay volatile into the evening.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, a lull in activity may develop later today as an upper-level low-pressure system shifts west. However, storms are expected to return by Sunday morning, increasing risks for heavy rainfall and additional severe weather. Flooding concerns are particularly high in already saturated areas of the Florida Big Bend and south-central Georgia.

Cities including Dothan, Bainbridge, and Tallahassee should prepare for renewed storms Sunday afternoon, with the potential for isolated tornadoes and localized flash flooding. Travel may become hazardous along major routes such as I-10 and U.S. 27.

Residents are urged to avoid non-essential travel, monitor NOAA Weather Radio for updates, and ensure mobile devices are charged. Storm activity is expected to continue into Sunday evening, with further advisories likely.
