Tallahassee, FL – Florida’s capital could sizzle under a blazing 93°F Tuesday as summer heat collides with a slight thunderstorm chance by late afternoon.

According to the National Weather Service in Tallahassee, there’s a 20% chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. on June 3rd. Though rain may be isolated, heat and humidity will peak by mid-afternoon, with winds from the southeast at 5 to 10 mph. Drivers on I-10 and US-319 should be alert for sudden downpours or lightning Tuesday evening.

Air quality may also be a concern early this week, with haze from Canadian wildfire smoke drifting across parts of North Florida. While no official alert has been issued yet, sensitive groups are advised to limit outdoor exposure if skies appear hazy.

Tuesday night brings only a 20% chance of lingering showers before conditions clear and lows settle near 71°F.

By Wednesday, the risk increases. Showers and thunderstorms are likely between 2 p.m. and 5 p.m., with stronger cells developing into the evening and overnight hours. The threat of downpours continues Thursday and Friday, with high temperatures holding in the upper 80s—classic early June summer weather.

What to Do: Stay hydrated, limit outdoor activity during peak heat, and monitor weather alerts. If thunderstorms develop, delay travel and avoid flood-prone roads.
