Orlando, FL – A Cold Weather Advisory and Freeze Warnings remain in effect across Central Florida, with freezing temperatures and wind chills affecting the region through Saturday morning.

The National Weather Service reports that sub-freezing temperatures, as low as 31°F, are expected in areas including Northern and Southern Lake County, Inland Volusia, and Seminole County until 9 a.m. Friday. Wind chill values could drop as low as 27°F, increasing the risk of hypothermia with prolonged exposure.

A second Freeze Warning is set to take effect from 2 a.m. to 8 a.m. Saturday, impacting similar areas. Residents in Southern Lake County, including Clermont and Groveland, should prepare for freezing conditions overnight.

The cold snap poses risks to crops, sensitive plants, and outdoor plumbing. Officials urge residents to take precautions, such as covering plants and ensuring exposed pipes are insulated.

The advisory highlights the importance of dressing warmly and using hats and gloves when traveling outside. Prepare now to protect vulnerable vegetation and limit outdoor exposure during peak cold hours.
