Melbourne, FL – Rain and hazardous rip currents will continue to affect Central Florida through Wednesday, creating risks for beachgoers and mariners. The National Weather Service warns of moderate to high risks of life-threatening rip currents along Brevard County beaches, extending northward into Volusia.

According to the National Weather Service Melbourne office, rain chances will remain at 90% Tuesday night, with gusty winds reaching up to 30 mph. Steady showers will linger through early Wednesday, with wind speeds increasing overnight. Residents should avoid swimming due to dangerous rip currents and follow safety guidelines, such as swimming only near lifeguards and staying out of the water if conditions worsen.

Temperatures will peak at 63°F Tuesday but drop to 52°F overnight, making for cool, wet conditions. A coastal wind advisory remains in place, particularly along I-95 and nearby areas. Small craft operators should heed warnings, as seas could reach up to 12 feet offshore by midweek.

Looking ahead, rain will taper off by Thursday, but breezy conditions will persist. Highs will reach 58°F Friday, offering a brief break before colder temperatures arrive this weekend.

Residents should monitor updates and plan accordingly for wet, windy conditions, particularly if traveling or visiting coastal areas.
