Miami, FL – Drivers and boaters across South Florida face challenges Thursday morning as dense fog blankets the region, reducing visibility to dangerous levels. The National Weather Service (NWS) has issued multiple Dense Fog Advisories, in effect until 9 a.m. Thursday.

According to the NWS, visibility in affected areas could drop to as little as one-quarter mile. Impacted counties include Glades, Hendry, Collier, and parts of Palm Beach, Broward, and Miami-Dade. Motorists are urged to exercise caution, slow down, and use low-beam headlights when traveling through foggy areas.

Marine conditions are also hazardous. NWS warns that Gulf waters, including sections near Chokoloskee, Bonita Beach, and the Dry Tortugas, will experience visibility less than one nautical mile. Boaters are advised to navigate carefully, use fog signals, and ensure all running lights are operational.

The fog is expected to dissipate later Thursday morning as temperatures rise. Until then, residents and visitors should prepare for potentially delayed commutes and challenging navigation on both roads and waterways.
