Tampa, FL – Storms are set to sweep into the Tampa Bay region tonight as a cold front moves through Florida, bringing heavy rain and a significant temperature drop. Local residents should prepare for a rainy commute on Wednesday morning, followed by cooler and breezy conditions through the weekend.

According to the National Weather Service, showers and thunderstorms will begin late Tuesday evening, with rain chances peaking at 80% overnight. Storms could bring brief heavy downpours and isolated lightning, particularly for areas along I-75 and I-4. Rainfall totals are expected to reach up to half an inch in some locations.

Wednesday morning may see lingering storms before drier air takes over by the afternoon. Temperatures will reach 79 degrees Wednesday, followed by a sharp drop into the 50s overnight. Breezy north winds will usher in cooler conditions, with highs in the upper 60s to low 70s expected Thursday and Friday.

Drivers are urged to exercise caution during the stormy weather, as wet roads and gusty winds could create hazardous conditions. Check local forecasts before traveling and avoid low-lying areas prone to flooding.

Looking ahead, sunny skies will dominate Thursday through the weekend, with morning lows in the 50s and highs hovering near 70 degrees. The cooler, dry conditions are ideal for outdoor activities but mark a stark contrast to Tampa’s usual November warmth.
