Florida Big Bend Faces Dense Fog Advisory Through Tuesday Morning: Drivers Urged to Exercise Caution

Tallahassee, FL – A Dense Fog Advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday for Florida’s Big Bend region, creating hazardous travel conditions. Drivers are advised to reduce speed, use low-beam headlights, and increase following distances as visibility drops to 1/4 mile or less.

According to the National Weather Service, the fog began developing Monday night and is expected to persist through Tuesday morning, particularly along U.S. Route 98 and nearby rural roadways. Motorists should consider delaying travel until the fog lifts, which is anticipated by late morning.

Tuesday will see the fog give way to mostly cloudy skies and a high near 77°F. Overnight, skies will clear with temperatures dropping to 45°F.

New Year’s Day Outlook and Five-Day Forecast

On Wednesday, the first day of 2025, expect sunny skies and a high near 61°F, providing a pleasant start to the new year. Temperatures will cool to 37°F overnight with clear skies.

Patchy frost is possible early Thursday morning, followed by sunny weather and a high near 61°F. Thursday night will bring partly cloudy skies and a low around 38°F.

Friday and Saturday promise mostly sunny conditions with highs in the upper 50s to low 60s, while overnight temperatures hover near freezing.

Residents should remain cautious on the roads Tuesday morning but can look forward to a sunny and mild New Year’s celebration.
