Seattle, WA – A flood watch is in effect for Mason County from Saturday afternoon through Sunday evening, as heavy rainfall could lead to flooding in rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying areas.

The National Weather Service reports that a stronger storm system will bring 2 to 3 inches of rain to the Olympic Mountains between Friday night and Sunday morning. With snow levels remaining above 7,000 feet, most of the precipitation is expected to fall as rain, which may push the Skokomish River near or above flood stage.

Residents in flood-prone areas should remain vigilant and monitor forecasts for potential flood warnings. Precautionary measures, such as preparing for possible evacuation or securing belongings, are strongly recommended.
