Tehama County, CA – A flash flood warning is in effect for areas surrounding the Park Fire burn scar in eastern Tehama County until 1:15 p.m. PST today, according to the National Weather Service in Sacramento.

Doppler radar has detected heavy rainfall in the affected area, with rates reaching up to 1.5 inches per hour. The recent burn scar from the Park Fire increases the risk of debris flows, including rock, mud, and vegetation, which can lead to life-threatening flash flooding.

Residents near Mineral, Paynes Creek, Manton, and along the Highway 36 corridor are advised to be vigilant and seek higher ground if necessary.
