Russellville, AR – A flash flood warning remains in effect for parts of central and western Arkansas, including Russellville, Hot Springs, and Mena, as heavy rain continues to impact the region. The National Weather Service in Little Rock extended the warning Thursday afternoon, with flood conditions expected to persist until at least 3 p.m. CST.

According to the National Weather Service, 2 to 5 inches of rain have already fallen, with an additional 1 to 2 inches possible. Thunderstorms are producing intense rainfall, causing flash flooding in urban areas, highways, and low-lying locations.

Cities affected include Clarksville, Booneville, Waldron, Danville, and Perryville. Emergency officials warn that flooded roads are extremely hazardous, and drivers should not attempt to cross high water.

Residents are urged to stay alert and monitor local updates, as conditions could worsen throughout the afternoon. If flooding occurs, seek higher ground immediately.
