Flagstaff, Arizona – Northern Arizona is enjoying a run of above-normal warmth this week, but residents should prepare for a cooler shift by the end of the workweek as rain and snow showers return to the high country.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, temperatures will remain mild through Thursday, with daytime highs running well above seasonal averages across much of northern Arizona. Flagstaff is expected to reach the low to mid-50s through midweek, while lower-elevation communities such as Sedona, Camp Verde, and Prescott warm into the low to mid-60s.
Sunny skies dominate Tuesday and Wednesday, offering ideal travel and outdoor conditions across Coconino, Yavapai, and Navajo counties. By Thursday, clouds begin to increase, though highs remain relatively mild, especially along the Mogollon Rim and Interstate 17 corridor.
A noticeable cooldown arrives Friday as a weather system moves into the region. Forecasters say cooler temperatures will spread south, bringing the potential for rain and snow showers, particularly for higher elevations including Flagstaff, Williams, and areas near the San Francisco Peaks. Any precipitation impacts are still uncertain, but changing road conditions are possible where snow develops.
Residents planning late-week travel should monitor updates and be ready for rapidly changing weather conditions. More advisories may be issued as confidence increases heading into Friday.
