Flagstaff, Arizona — Quiet and unseasonably warm weather will continue across Flagstaff today, with little change from recent conditions.
According to the National Weather Service in Flagstaff, skies will remain mostly sunny, with afternoon highs reaching the mid-50s, roughly 5 to 15 degrees above normal for mid-January. Typical highs this time of year are closer to the low 40s.
The primary change today will be lighter winds, with light and variable breezes replacing the gustier conditions seen earlier this week. No precipitation is expected, and road conditions will remain dry.
Temperatures across the Flagstaff area are expected to range from about 54 to 57 degrees this afternoon, with cooler readings at higher elevations and slightly warmer values in lower terrain to the south.
While conditions remain calm, forecasters note that the continued stretch of dry and warm weather may contribute to snowpack loss at lower elevations, especially on south-facing slopes.
No weather advisories or warnings are in effect today. However, residents recreating outdoors should remain mindful of rapid cooling after sunset, as temperatures will still fall quickly this evening.
This update is especially relevant for outdoor workers, hikers, and commuters, as mild daytime conditions may contrast sharply with colder overnight lows.
