Highland, IN – A little library was destroyed for the third time Saturday morning in an apparent Fireworks explosion.
According to the Highland Police Department,on Saturday morning, officers were dispatched to Brantwood Park following reports of property damage. At approximately 12:24 a.m., officers arrived at the corner of Lincoln Street and Woodward Avenue to find that an unknown individual or group had used a large firework to blow up the “Little Library” located at the corner. The explosion resulted in the total destruction of the library, with debris and books scattered across the area.
Officials say this marks the third time a similar incident has occurred at this location. Nearby residents reported hearing a vehicle leave the area immediately after the explosion. Witnesses noted that the vehicle had a very loud muffler, which might help in identifying the culprits.
Authorities are seeking assistance from the public. Residents in the immediate area with doorbell cameras or other security footage are urged to review their recordings from Saturday morning. Any footage that might capture the incident or the suspect vehicle could prove crucial to the investigation.
