Cheyenne, WY – A Fire Weather Watch has been issued for parts of eastern Wyoming, including Cheyenne, on Monday. Warm, dry conditions and wind gusts up to 35 mph are expected to increase the risk of wildfires.

The National Weather Service (NWS) issued the warning Sunday, emphasizing potential for rapid fire spread due to low humidity levels ranging from 10 to 15%. The watch will be active from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday. According to the NWS, gusty winds will combine with dry vegetation, creating hazardous fire conditions.

Cheyenne’s forecast for Monday includes sunny skies with a high of 85°F. Residents are urged to remain cautious and avoid activities that could spark fires, like open burning or using heavy machinery. As of today, Sunday’s forecast shows mostly clear skies with a high of 84°F.

The weather is expected to moderate later in the week, with cooler temperatures dropping into the 70s by Wednesday.
