Fire Damages Streator Church Hall, Minor Injury Reported

Streator, IL – Streator firefighters quickly extinguished a fire at a church hall early this morning, limiting injuries to one minor case. Crews responded at 1:41 a.m. to the blaze at 201 E Bridge Street, where the building also serves as a food pantry.

According to the Streator Fire Department, nine firefighters and two EMS personnel were on-site. The fire caused severe damage, with significant smoke and fire impacts throughout the structure. Firefighters deployed a quick attack strategy, which brought the fire under control by 4:42 a.m.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
