Alabama residents can expect sunny weather through the weekend, but a significant drop in temperatures is on the way. While Saturday and Sunday bring warm, dry conditions with highs reaching up to 88 degrees, a cold front will begin to make its presence felt by Monday. The National Weather Service warns that Tuesday night could bring the season’s first frost, with temperatures plunging to the mid-30s in some areas.

According to the National Weather Service in Huntsville, the dramatic change begins Monday when highs will range from 64 to 72 degrees, considerably cooler than the weekend. Overnight lows could dip into the low 40s. Tuesday’s forecast shows further cooling with highs only reaching the mid-60s and lows expected to fall between 35 and 40 degrees, increasing the likelihood of frost across the region.

Residents are urged to take precautions, particularly if they have sensitive plants or outdoor items vulnerable to freezing conditions. The forecast for Saturday and Sunday suggests no rain, making it a perfect opportunity to prepare outdoor spaces for the cold. The warmest days this weekend will be Saturday, with highs from 75 to 83 degrees and lows from 51 to 60 degrees, followed by Sunday’s slightly warmer range of 79 to 88 degrees during the day and cooler lows between 50 and 56 degrees.

With this upcoming drop, Alabama drivers and travelers should also prepare for possible frost on Tuesday night, potentially affecting morning commutes on major roadways. Stay updated with local weather advisories as the region shifts from a warm weekend into cooler temperatures.
