Feel-Good News: Braidwood, IL — Firefighters rescued a kitten trapped in a vehicle’s engine compartment on Friday afternoon, bringing relief and smiles to the local community. The black kitten, discovered in a silver SUV at 120 N Washington St, was unharmed after a swift and careful rescue.
According to the Braidwood Fire Protection District (BFPD), the rescue team responded at 1:30 p.m., using wood blocks to secure the vehicle while carefully freeing the kitten. The vehicle’s owner had heard faint meowing before realizing the kitten was stuck under the hood.
The kitten, believed to have sought warmth inside the engine, was later placed in the care of local animal services. This successful rescue highlights another example of BFPD’s commitment to both emergency response and community service.
