Stanley, IA – A driver from Baxter was cited Saturday evening after his Jeep Cherokee rolled into a Fayette County creek, according to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they received a call at approximately 7:43 p.m. on September 19, 2025, reporting a vehicle in a ditch near K Avenue and 35th Street in Stanley. Responding officers located a 2017 Jeep Cherokee in the creek along the east side ditch.
According to investigators, the driver, identified as 40-year-old Nathan Lee Squire of Baxter, allegedly lost control of the vehicle around 5:30 p.m. The Jeep rolled multiple times before coming to rest in the creek. Stanley Fire Department and Birchard Fab and Repair assisted deputies at the scene. Squire was transported to a local hospital by family members and sustained only minor injuries from the crash, deputies said.
