Fatal Multi-Vehicle Crash in Beach Park Claims One Life, Investigation Ongoing

Beach Park, IL – A fatal multi-vehicle crash in Beach Park late last night left one person dead and multiple others injured.

The crash occurred around 11:45 p.m. on October 19, 2024, near the intersection of Lewis Avenue and Leland Avenue. A 21-year-old Zion man driving a Toyota Avalon allegedly failed to slow down for traffic, colliding with a Dodge Journey, a Nissan Sentra, and a Chevrolet Malibu. The driver of the Malibu, an 18-year-old Waukegan man, was critically injured and later pronounced dead at the hospital.

According to the Lake County Sheriff’s Office, the Toyota driver suffered minor injuries, while his 17-year-old passenger remains in serious condition. The Dodge Journey driver sustained minor injuries, and the Nissan Sentra driver was unharmed.

The Lake County Sheriff’s Technical Crash Investigations Team continues to investigate the accident.
