Arcadia, LA — A 23-year-old woman died following a single-vehicle crash on Interstate 20, west of Louisiana Highway 9, on October 11. Ruby Brantley of Minden was ejected from her 2006 Ford Fusion after the vehicle veered off the roadway and overturned into a ditch.
According to Louisiana State Police Troop G, Brantley was traveling west around 3 p.m. when the crash occurred. Brantley was not wearing a seat belt and sustained severe injuries. She was rushed to a local hospital for treatment, where she later died on October 13.
Investigators do not suspect impairment. However, toxicology samples have been collected and are pending analysis. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
