Diamond, IL – A devastating house fire in Diamond claimed two lives and left others injured early this morning on Crystal Lane. Emergency responders, including the Grundy County Coroner’s Office, Grundy County Sheriff’s Office, and Coal City Fire Protection District, arrived quickly to assist residents trapped inside.
According to Grundy County Coroners Office, two people died in the fire, while three others were transported to local hospitals. Their conditions are currently unknown. Witness reports indicate the fire was intense, with flames engulfing the structure, leading responders to request additional support, including over six ambulances.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called to investigate the cause of the blaze, as officials continue their search for any further victims. Authorities have not yet released further details about the identities of the deceased or the survivors’ conditions.
