Fall River, Massachusetts – A multi-city drug trafficking investigation led to the seizure of firearms, fentanyl, cocaine, and cash, prompting arrests in Fall River and New Bedford.
According to Massachusetts State Police, the Commonwealth Interstate Narcotics Reduction Enforcement Team (CINRET) South unit began investigating an alleged drug trafficking operation in 2025 that was distributing fentanyl and cocaine throughout several South Coast communities.
On Tuesday, Feb. 3, CINRET South executed search warrants at two residences in Fall River, one residence in New Bedford, two vehicles, and one landscaping trailer.
During the searches, investigators seized seven firearms, including six handguns and one rifle. Police also recovered four high-capacity magazines and hundreds of rounds of ammunition.
In addition to the weapons, troopers allegedly seized approximately one kilogram of cocaine, three kilograms of fentanyl, and three kilograms of fentanyl mixture. Authorities also recovered approximately $100,000 in U.S. currency, according to state police.
Two suspects were taken into custody following the execution of the warrants. Police identified them as Daryl Farrell of Fall River and Lincoln Green of New Bedford. Both men will be facing numerous drug and firearms-related charges, police said. Formal charges were expected to be filed in court following arraignment.
State police emphasized that CINRET’s mission is to disrupt and dismantle organized drug trafficking networks while identifying and seizing illicit assets connected to narcotics activity.
The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities said additional charges or arrests are possible.
The seizures highlight continued enforcement efforts across the South Coast, a region that includes major commuter corridors and residential neighborhoods impacted by fentanyl distribution.
