Memphis, TN – Tennessee is bracing for extreme heat as the National Weather Service issues a heat advisory for parts of the state, including north Mississippi. With heat indices expected to surpass 105 degrees, residents are urged to take precautions to stay safe and cool.

According to the US National Weather Service Memphis Tennessee, the advisory is in effect from 10 AM to 8 PM today. The intense heat is expected to pose a significant risk of heat-related illnesses. People are advised to avoid strenuous outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, and stay in air-conditioned environments whenever possible.

The heat advisory covers areas including Memphis, Clarksville, and Jackson. Relief is expected on Thursday with the arrival of a “cold” front, bringing some respite from the sweltering conditions. Until then, the Weather Service recommends staying hydrated and avoiding alcohol and caffeinated beverages, which can contribute to dehydration.
