Elmhurst Cycling Classic Traffic Notice Posted

Elmhurst, Ill. — The Elmhurst Police Department issued a traffic notice for the Elmhurst Cycling Classic, which will return on Saturday, June 7. From 7:00 a.m. to approximately 9:30 p.m., several road closures will be in place for the race.

The race loop will travel around Elmhurst University and the surrounding neighborhood west of Wilder Park. Road closures include Alexander Boulevard between Fairfield Avenue and Wilder Park, and South Prospect Avenue between Walter Street and Winthrop Avenue. Elm Park Avenue will be closed from Fairfield Avenue to South College Hill Avenue, including along the park. South Grace Avenue will also be closed from Winthrop Avenue to Alexander Boulevard. 

A map posted by the Elmhurst Police Department directs residents to streets where parking is allowed, as well as marked spectator parking for the Elmhurst Cycling Classic. Residents who live on closed streets have been provided overnight parking passes to park outside the course on Saturday, June 7.

The Elmhurst Cycling Classic is an annual local bicycle race including professional and amateur races. Other events during the day include the Elmhurst Twilight Mile, which runs a loop around the University and local neighborhoods.
