Henry County, GA – A tornado struck Henry County early on April 7, 2025, leaving behind significant but localized damage. The National Weather Service (NWS) confirmed that the tornado, rated EF0 on the Enhanced Fujita scale, hit the area south of McDonough around 7:48 AM.
The storm’s maximum winds reached 75 mph, and its path stretched across 1.62 miles, with a maximum width of 75 yards. Despite its strength, the tornado caused no injuries or fatalities.
According to the NWS Peachtree City office, the storm crossed Interstate 75 south of McDonough, moving through an area of significant traffic. Although the damage survey in Henry County is complete, the results from nearby Spaulding County are expected to be available later today or tomorrow.
The NWS continues to monitor the situation as recovery efforts progress and encourages local residents to remain alert to any updates.
