Glendie, VA – A third tornado, linked to the remnants of Tropical Storm Debbie, was confirmed in the Glendie area on Thursday evening. The National Weather Service (NWS) in Baltimore/Washington reported that the tornado, classified as an EF-1, touched down between 7:49 p.m. and 8:01 p.m. EDT.
According to the NWS, the tornado, with estimated peak winds of 90 mph, carved a path of destruction stretching 7.1 miles. The storm, which was 150 yards wide at its maximum, left behind uprooted trees and damaged structures, but fortunately, no injuries or fatalities were reported.
The tornado is the third confirmed in the region as a result of Debbie’s remnants, highlighting the ongoing severe weather threat posed by such systems.
