Tulsa, OK – Arctic air is poised to bring dangerous wind chills and a slight chance of snow across Oklahoma beginning Sunday. With temperatures plunging into the teens and wind chills as low as 3°F expected, residents are urged to bundle up and avoid extended outdoor exposure.

According to the National Weather Service, the coldest conditions will occur Sunday morning and evening, with wind gusts reaching up to 20 mph. A 20 percent chance of snow remains in the forecast, but accumulations are expected to stay below 0.5 inches for most areas, including Tulsa. Wind chills could dip to near zero, increasing the risk of frostbite on exposed skin within 30 minutes.

Travelers, especially those along US-75 and nearby highways, should remain cautious due to potential slick roads Sunday evening. Residents are advised to dress in layers, bring pets indoors, and check on vulnerable neighbors as the Arctic front intensifies.

Looking ahead, temperatures will climb slightly through the week, with highs near 44°F by Wednesday, accompanied by mostly sunny skies. However, the region faces ongoing challenges with cold nights, including lows dipping below 15°F on Monday.

Prepare by winterizing your home, insulating pipes, and keeping a survival kit in your vehicle if you must travel. Additional updates will follow if snow conditions worsen.
