According to the National Weather Service (NWS) Tulsa, the heat index values in the affected areas are expected to reach up to 111 degrees Fahrenheit. These dangerous conditions are forecasted to continue throughout the week, posing a significant risk of heat illness.
Tulsa will see temperatures hitting 98 to 100 degrees, with a heat index as high as 111. Fayetteville and Fort Smith in Arkansas will experience highs ranging from 98 to 104 degrees with similar heat indexes. Residents in McAlester can expect temperatures up to 104 degrees.
