Pittsburgh, Pa. – Drivers, residents, and emergency crews across Ohio, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia should remain on alert as a tornado watch remains in effect until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Cities including Pittsburgh, Morgantown, and Steubenville are among dozens potentially at risk.

According to the National Weather Service, Tornado Watch 310 was issued at 2:43 p.m. EDT and includes 25 counties across the three states. The watch stretches from Belmont and Tuscarawas counties in east-central Ohio through southwestern Pennsylvania’s Allegheny and Westmoreland counties and into northern West Virginia’s Monongalia, Marion, and Wetzel counties.

Communities such as Beaver Falls, Fairmont, Uniontown, and Wheeling could see conditions favorable for tornadic development, large hail, and damaging wind gusts. The threat zone includes major interstates like I-70, I-79, and I-376. Residents are urged to monitor NOAA Weather Radio, local alerts, and stay near safe shelter through the evening hours.

This is a broad, fast-moving system with potential to intensify rapidly. Officials advise charging mobile devices, avoiding unnecessary travel, and having a plan in place in case a warning is issued.

Tornado watch conditions remain active until 8 p.m., with further advisories possible later tonight.
