Grand Forks, ND – A stretch of wet weather is moving into eastern North Dakota and northwest Minnesota tonight, bringing periods of rain and a few isolated thunderstorms through Sunday evening, according to the National Weather Service in Grand Forks.

Forecasters say showers will develop this evening and continue through Sunday before tapering off late in the day. Most locations are expected to receive between 0.1 and 0.25 inches of rain, though areas across southeast North Dakota and northwest Minnesota could see up to 0.5 inches or more.

Chances for measurable rainfall increase to 70–90% overnight, especially around Grand Forks, Thief River Falls, and Hallock, with lighter totals farther west. The system may briefly impact outdoor plans and travel during the weekend before clearing by Sunday night.

No severe weather is expected, but localized wet roads and minor ponding could occur in heavier showers.
