Wichita, KS – Mild conditions will continue Tuesday night across Kansas, followed by warmer weather Wednesday and a slight chance for isolated thunderstorms east of the Kansas Turnpike after midnight.

According to the National Weather Service in Wichita, overnight lows Tuesday will range between 42°F and 48°F. Wednesday will bring unseasonably warm highs between 73°F and 78°F. Storm chances remain below 30% but are expected to develop after midnight Wednesday and into early Thursday morning, especially for cities like Topeka (31% chance), Emporia (23%), and Chanute (26%).

The highest chance of precipitation is concentrated east of the Kansas Turnpike, with areas like El Dorado and Winfield also facing a marginal risk. Wichita’s storm chance remains low at 20%, while areas farther west such as Russell and Great Bend stay around 11%.

Most locations will remain dry, but residents east of the Turnpike should prepare for possible light thunderstorms late Wednesday night. Drivers should stay alert for changing road conditions after midnight. While no severe weather is expected, staying updated with weather alerts is advised.

Warmer-than-average temperatures will persist through midweek, making Wednesday ideal for outdoor activities ahead of any potential overnight storms.
