Quad Cities, IA/IL – Residents in Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois should prepare for a hot and humid weekend with scattered thunderstorms. Temperatures are expected to rise into the lower 90s, bringing with them increased humidity and storm chances.

According to the US National Weather Service Quad Cities, the heat will peak with temperatures in the lower 90s throughout the week. Today, temperatures will range from 84°F to 88°F with increasing cloudiness and possible showers after midnight. Sunday will see scattered showers and storms with temperatures between 79°F and 87°F. Monday’s forecast includes similar conditions with temperatures from 84°F to 91°F.

Residents are advised to follow the heat safety checklist: stay informed, limit outdoor activities, stay hydrated, check on others, and ensure the safety of animals. Nighttime temperatures will remain warm, ranging from 66°F to 72°F, adding to the discomfort.
