According to the Louisiana State Police Criminal Investigations Division, the incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on November 9 in the 1200 block of Second Street. Authorities say the shooting resulted in the death of 18-year-old Tyson Jackson of Lake Providence.

Through interviews and evidence collection, detectives with the Monroe Field Office secured an arrest warrant for 19-year-old Zacorrion McCallum of Tallulah. McCallum was taken into custody and charged with second-degree murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, and obstruction of justice, according to police. He was booked into the East Carroll Parish Detention Center following his arrest.
