Dyer, IN – Emergency crews in Dyer are searching for a driver after a vehicle submerged in a waterway Wednesday evening.
The incident occurred around 5:47 p.m. on the 800 block of Flagstone Drive. Dyer’s Fire and Police Departments responded, joined by the MABAS 207 Dive Team, to locate the driver. Teams searched the waterway and surrounding areas thoroughly but found no sign of the driver.
According to the Dyer Fire Department, rescue personnel worked quickly to secure the scene and comb through the area. Divers and emergency responders collaborated to ensure every part of the waterway was searched.
As of Wednesday, authorities have classified the case as a missing person investigation. Police are urging anyone with information about the vehicle or driver to contact the Dyer Police Department at (219) 865-1163.
