The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) reported the quake occurred at 1:57 a.m. local time, with its epicenter located 3 kilometers west of Harvard. The quake originated at a depth of 9.6 kilometers, which is considered shallow and more likely to be felt at the surface.
Residents in the surrounding areas, including Hastings and Clay County, are encouraged to report any shaking to the USGS “Did You Feel It?” platform. As of now, no reports of damage or injuries have been received.
