Wheaton, IL – Residents in DuPage County looking to dispose of campaign signs from the recent Consolidated General Election can take advantage of a free recycling event happening this week.

DuPage County’s 2025 Sign Recycling Event will be held on Friday, April 11, from 3 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. and again on Saturday, April 12, from 9 a.m. to noon at the DuPage County Campus, located at 421 N. County Farm Road in Wheaton. Attendees should enter through the main entrance and follow signage to the recycling drop-off location.

According to the DuPage County Environmental Committee, the event allows residents to recycle corrugated plastic and cardboard political signs, along with any associated metal stands, at no cost. The recycling will be handled by LRS (Lakeshore Recycling Systems), which will collect both the signs and the metal stands. However, officials request that metal stands be separated from signs before drop-off to ensure efficient processing.

Only corrugated plastic and cardboard materials will be accepted; other types of materials will not be eligible for recycling during the event.

For more information or questions about the event, residents can contact DuPage County at 630-407-6767 or email Recycle@dupagecounty.gov. Additional recycling details can be found at www.dupagecounty.gov/recycling.
