According to the National Weather Service in Dodge City, Syracuse is expected to top the list with a high near 97°F, while most other cities, including Garden City, Ashland, and Scott City, will see highs between 94°F and 95°F. Communities such as Dodge City, Greensburg, and Pratt will be slightly cooler, peaking near 91°F.
Drivers should be prepared for occasional gusts that could affect high-profile vehicles, especially on east-west highways like U.S. 50 and U.S. 54. Outdoor workers are urged to stay hydrated and take breaks in shaded areas during peak afternoon heat.
The warm trend is expected to hold into the end of the week, with slightly cooler mornings but continued sunny afternoons.
