Detroit, MI – Southeast Michigan is off to a bitterly cold start Friday morning, with wind chills near or below zero, according to the National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac.

Clouds will increase through the day as highs climb only into the mid-20s, setting up another cold, mostly cloudy weekend. A few flurries or light snow showers are possible early Saturday morning, followed by a better chance for accumulating snow Sunday, when up to one inch could fall in parts of the region.

Highs will reach the low 30s Saturday and Sunday, with overnight lows dipping back into the 20s. By Monday, temperatures remain below seasonal averages, though skies will turn breezier and partly cloudy.

Forecasters caution that slick roads are possible early Sunday, especially on untreated surfaces, as light snow develops during the morning hours.
