Denver, CO – A winter weather advisory remains in effect for multiple regions across Colorado, bringing snow and strong winds that could create hazardous travel conditions through Wednesday morning.

According to the National Weather Service, the advisory covers mountain areas above 9,000 feet, including Rabbit Ears Pass, Rocky Mountain National Park, and Summit County, where an additional 6 inches of snow is expected. Wind gusts could reach 45 mph, making travel difficult, particularly during the Tuesday evening commute.

Lower-elevation areas, including Castle Rock, Fort Morgan, and Byers, are also under an advisory from 6 p.m. Tuesday until 6 a.m. Wednesday. These regions could see 1 to 3 inches of snow, with wind gusts up to 60 mph, reducing visibility to a quarter mile or less.

Further northeast, including Sterling, Julesburg, and Holyoke, snow accumulations of up to 4 inches are expected from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 9 a.m. Wednesday. Wind gusts could reach 55 mph, worsening road conditions overnight.

Drivers should exercise caution, as roads will be snow-packed and icy. For updated road conditions, visit www.cotrip.org or dial 511.
