Denver, CO – Residents across northern Colorado should prepare for scattered showers and possibly an isolated thunderstorm today, according to the National Weather Service (NWS) in Denver/Boulder. The bulk of the rain is expected through the morning, with slightly cooler conditions compared to Saturday.
According to the NWS forecast, showers will be most widespread across the northern half of the state. Areas including Fort Collins, Greeley, and Boulder could see rain linger into midday. The chance of isolated thunderstorms will remain through the afternoon, though widespread severe weather is not expected.
High temperatures across the Denver metro and northern plains are forecast to reach the low 70s, several degrees cooler than the mid- to upper-70s seen Saturday. Mountain communities west of the Front Range will remain cooler, with highs in the 50s and 60s.
Forecasters note that wet roads could slow morning commutes, particularly along I-25 and I-76. Conditions are expected to gradually improve later in the day as showers diminish.
Residents are encouraged to keep rain gear handy and monitor updates from the National Weather Service.
