Denver, CO – After a chilly and foggy start this Sunday, the Denver region is forecast to see a return to above-normal temperatures by the afternoon, with highs reaching the low 70s across the plains. While the morning fog should clear by late morning, winds will increase across the eastern plains, with gusts up to 35 mph expected.
According to the National Weather Service, temperatures will climb back into the 70s for most of the region, especially across lower elevations. In the high country, widely scattered rain showers are anticipated, and snow showers will occur at elevations above 10,000 feet. Winds will pick up in the afternoon across the plains, potentially impacting travel with gusty conditions.
Sunday night brings a 30-40 percent chance of rain showers, primarily after 3 a.m., as temperatures dip into the mid-40s. Monday will see a high near 70 degrees, with showers and breezy conditions possible in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 25 mph in some areas, but dry conditions will return by the afternoon.
A dry and warm weather pattern is forecast for much of next week, with temperatures continuing to stay above seasonal normals through Thursday across the Denver metro area and surrounding plains.
